As we close the books on the fourth quarter of 2023, the tax season is in full swing, and Android users in the United States are turning to their preferred tax preparation and planning applications. Data from Sensor Tower reveals how these apps have fared during this period.

H&R Block's MyBlock saw a significant spike in downloads, reaching a peak of 27K in late October, with weekly active users hitting a high of 47K in the same timeframe. Although the app's downloads and active users showed fluctuations, there was a notable upward trend through October, followed by a gradual decline toward the year's end.

Intuit's TurboTax: File Your Tax Return experienced a steady increase in downloads over the quarter, ending with nearly 14K in the last week of December. Weekly active users fluctuated, peaking at over 203K in early October, before settling at around 182K by the quarter's close.

The IRS2Go app, provided by the Internal Revenue Service, maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter, with a slight uptick to over 5K downloads in the final week. Active users remained high, with numbers hovering around 600K for most of the quarter, demonstrating the app's enduring popularity.

Keeper, from Keeper Tax, Inc., showed a gradual increase in downloads, ending the quarter with over 2K in the final week. Unfortunately, data on weekly active users for Keeper was not available for this period.

Lastly, H&R Block Tax Prep: File Taxes experienced relatively low download figures compared to its counterparts, with downloads ranging from a few hundred to over 1K throughout the quarter.
